The BINHI project of EDC has been the company’s holistic reforestation program since 2008. The project aims to strategically reforest deforested areas in the Philippines by rescuing endangered high-priority native tree species. 96 target species have already been rescued and are being cultivated to produce seedlings for the ambitious “10M in 10” goal of the project, which is to plant ten million trees within the next ten years. This focus on biodiversity, as well as the program’s scientific approach to reforestation sets it apart from other reforestation projects in the country.
