Creating solutions that matter is one of the values that Drink upholds. But how does an organization continue to provide sustainable solutions and navigate the always-developing landscape of sustainability?
Upskilling and training are important, as well as being up-to-date with the current trends in the industry. This year, Drink empowered its employees through specialized courses geared towards individual growth, career advancement, and the development of the organization as a whole.
Business Sustainability Management with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership
Kit Kat Poe, Drink Sustainability Associate, underwent the Business Sustainability Management (BSM) course under the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Here is what she has to say about the training.
To anyone, business sustainability can seem daunting, challenging, and impossible to achieve. However, the Business Sustainability Management online course of CISL is able to break this down into less intimidating parts, allowing for a better understanding of how to integrate sustainability into the business strategy.
The online course covers a variety of modules – from systems pressures to responsible production to partnerships and collaboration, just to name a few.
Through this course, one is able to learn the complexity of sustainability using different lenses and with the help of perspectives from people from various industries. Although integrating sustainability within the business strategy may be challenging, one thing for sure is that it is possible – with the right tools and mindset. By gaining sufficient knowledge on business sustainability management, one can also gain the courage and confidence needed to become an effective change agent in their organization and industry.
“Through this course, one is able to learn the complexity of sustainability using different lenses and with the help of perspectives from people from various industries.”

GHG Accounting training with the British Standards Institution
The British Standards Institution (BSI) GHG Accounting training was attended by Danica Java and King Llanza, Drink Sustainability Associates, on July 19, 2022.
The BSI training, titled ‘Verification of Carbon Footprint Introduction cum Implementation Training Course’ is a 2-day online introductory course on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and accounting. Based on the ISO 14064-1:2019 standards, it aims to provide the knowledge and skills required to identify carbon emission sources, quantify an organization’s carbon footprint, and report it in an internationally acceptable format.
Greenhouse gas emissions cause global warming and climate change. Today, it is already impacting lives and natural systems in myriad ways, which could lead to significant changes in resource use, production, and economic activity. In other words, environmental, social, and economic sustainability would be unattainable.
As a result, organizations around the world need to limit and stop emitting GHG emissions. With this regard, the training course provided knowledge on helping organizations measure, monitor, and report their GHG emissions, which is the first stage.
“Greenhouse gas accounting and reporting is an important step in an organization’s journey toward sustainability… organizations should take this step immediately as we only have a short time left to reach our Net Zero and carbon neutrality goals to stop global temperature rise and prevent major climate disasters from impacting our lives.”
