The Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), in collaboration with DRINK, released its annual report for 2015. The report covered PCIEERD’s innovations centered on new technologies that are being developed by the company to give the Philippines a competitive edge in the global market for emerging technologies. This year, the PCIEERD also developed DIWATA, the first all-Filipino assembled microsatellite for use with the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Project Noah. The microsatellite will aid in the monitoring of Philippine weather patterns to aid in disaster risk reduction, and in nationwide resource mapping.
